My Story
My name is Karen Byard. I am passionate about animals and have always owned dogs and a variety of small furry friends. I have been a primary teacher for 30 years and have decided to follow my lifelong ambition, to work with animals.
One love of mine is Pickles, my Border terrier. I spend time with her training, walking in the countryside and playing. Where I go she goes!! We compete at K.C. agility and are a super team.
I am lucky enough to train with top international agility handlers. I attend courses, workshops and seminars to keep up to date with the latest ideas about training and behaviour. Pickles knows a vast number of cute tricks which she loves to perform. She is registered as a Pets at Therapy (P.A.T.) dog and regularly visits a local nursing home, getting many strokes.
Recently joining our family is Paws, a working cocker spaniel. She is adorable and has turned our world up-side down. She is well on the way with her basic training and socialisation .She continues to progress with agility and gun dog training and will be a future success.
I am canine 1st aid qualified and have diplomas in dog walking and pet sitting, canine behaviour and psychology and in puppy behaviour and training.
